Halloween in Charleston is a little extra magical! From historic homes decorated with pumpkins and skeletons to neighborhoods filled with elaborate Halloween displays, the Lowcountry knows how to celebrate the spooky season.

Whether you're looking for the best Halloween decorations in Mount Pleasant, planning a family outing to a pumpkin patch, or searching for a fun way to spend Halloween weekend, there's something for everyone.

As a local Realtor, one of my favorite things about living in the Charleston area is seeing how our communities come together to celebrate the holidays. Halloween is no exception!

Here's your guide to some of the best places to experience Halloween in Charleston, Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island, and beyond in 2026.

Best Neighborhoods & Halloween Displays Around Charleston

One of the best Halloween traditions is simply hopping in the car or taking an evening stroll to see the incredible decorations local homeowners create. Some families spend weeks preparing their displays, and the results are seriously impressive!

1. Old Village – Mount Pleasant

Where: Pitt Street and surrounding streets, Mount Pleasant

If you're looking for Halloween charm with a side of spooky fun, the Old Village is a must-visit.

Historic homes, beautiful oak trees, and walkable streets create the perfect backdrop for Halloween decorations. You'll find everything from classic pumpkins and friendly ghosts to elaborate skeleton scenes.

Don't miss the Skelley House at 605 Pitt Street! This local favorite features an impressive pirate-themed skeleton display, complete with a pirate ship and a nightly Skelly Show.

The display is scheduled to run through November 7, with the show from 6:45–7:45 p.m.

It's a fun stop for families who enjoy a little Halloween magic without needing to visit a haunted house.

2. Ivy Hall – Mount Pleasant

Where: 3241 Morningdale Drive, Mount Pleasant

If you love over-the-top Halloween decorations, this is one to put on your list!

A homeowner in Ivy Hall has become known for creating elaborate Halloween displays featuring handmade props, spooky characters, skeletons, and dramatic lighting.

It's the kind of display that makes you wonder how many hours went into creating it!

3. Daniel Island Halloween Displays

Where: Daniel Island, including 557 Park Crossing

Daniel Island residents take their holiday decorating seriously, and Halloween is no exception.

One of the most well-known displays is at 557 Park Crossing, where homeowners have created elaborate seasonal scenes featuring large decorations and animatronics.

Daniel Island also hosts an annual Halloween House Decorating Contest, making it a great area for an evening drive.

Even better, the 2026 Daniel Island Spooky Tour features an interactive map of 48 decorated homes, making it easy to create your own Halloween sightseeing adventure.

Best Pumpkin Patches & Fall Activities

Halloween isn't just about costumes and candy. There are plenty of fun ways to celebrate fall throughout the Charleston area.

Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch – Mount Pleasant

A longtime Lowcountry favorite, the Boone Hall Pumpkin Patch is a wonderful place for families to spend a fall afternoon.

The 2026 event features pumpkins, a corn maze, animals, games, and live entertainment.

Hibben United Methodist Church Pumpkin Patch – Mount Pleasant

For a simpler fall outing, visit the pumpkin patch at Hibben United Methodist Church on Coleman Boulevard.

It's a charming place to pick out pumpkins, take seasonal photos, and enjoy a little fall tradition.

When: October 1–31, 2026

Spooky Halloween Fun for Older Kids & Adults

Looking for something a little scarier? Charleston has plenty of options!

Southern Screams Haunted House – North Charleston

Located at Holy City Brewing, Southern Screams offers an immersive haunted house experience with themed sets and plenty of scares.

The 2026 attraction, MACABRE, is scheduled to run on select nights from September 25 through November 7.

This is a great option for older teens and adults who enjoy haunted attractions.

Charleston Ghost Tours – Downtown Charleston

With its historic graveyards, centuries-old buildings, and fascinating local legends, Charleston is practically made for ghost tours.

Several local companies offer walking tours through the historic district, sharing stories about Charleston's mysterious past.

It's a fun way to learn more about the city while enjoying a little Halloween atmosphere.

USS Yorktown Ghost Tour – Mount Pleasant

For a different kind of spooky experience, consider an evening ghost tour aboard the USS Yorktown at Patriots Point.

These guided tours combine stories from the historic aircraft carrier with eerie nighttime surroundings.

It's a memorable outing for history lovers and anyone who enjoys a good ghost story.

Why Halloween Is So Special in the Lowcountry

One of the things I love most about living in the Charleston area is the sense of community.

Whether it's neighbors gathering for trick-or-treating, families decorating their homes together, or local businesses hosting fall celebrations, these traditions are part of what makes the Lowcountry such a wonderful place to call home.

Halloween is a great reminder that finding the right home is about more than just the house itself. It's also about finding a community where you can create memories and enjoy the traditions that make each season special.
