Who says that you have to get on a plane to enjoy a romantic vacation with your beau? As residents of Mount Pleasant, we are beyond lucky to live in one of the most romantic places in the country. In fact, this is where many couples travel to for a picturesque, sweep you off your feet, kind of vacation anyway. So now that the weather is warming up here in South Carolina, I thought I would share some tips to help you and your spouse enjoy the perfect staycation right here in our own little slice of paradise.

Where To Stay
Obviously, if you live here it is unlikely that you have ever stayed in any or many of our local hotels. But let me be the first to tell you that we have a truly wonderful selection of romantic inns, bed and breakfasts, and hotels that will make you feel like you’re waking up in a romantic fairytale. Many of which are conveniently located in Mt. Pleasant or downtown Charleston where you can enjoy easy access to activities, shops, and restaurants which are also featured in this post.
There are too many suitable places to stay to name in this post being that we live in one of the most romantic areas of the country but here are a few of my all-time favorites:

What To Do
Sometimes a romantic vacation calls for staying in the room, relaxing, ordering room service, and just focusing on one another and I totally get that! But when you do feel like getting out of the room and doing something fun together, it can be difficult deciding what to do.
You know how that conversation goes right?
“What do you want to do?”
“I don’t know what do you want to do?”
Ugh! That's the worst!
So to spare you that exhausting conversation, I am supplying you with some of my favorite ideas worthy of a romantic staycation in Mt. Pleasant.
Relax With Some Yoga & A Couples Massage
If you are anything like most people, you like to use vacations to recharge. What better way to do that than with some yoga to get you feeling flexible and centered? Follow that with an indulgent couples massage and the two of you will feel like two brand new people.
Go To A Show
Despite being a quiet and quaint area, we are lucky to be home to fantastic culture and entertainment. From live music on Dock Street to the theatrical musings of the Footlight Players there is so much to choose from. I am also a huge fan of the intimate little theater known as 34 West which is truly worth checking out!
Pack A Picnic
I also love the idea of hitting one of our local specialty shops for all of the fixings of a romantic picnic. Or you could always grab takeout from one of your favorite restaurants too! Grab a bottle of wine or champagne and a blanket and curl up together by the water or under one of the romantic mossy oaks that fill our parks.
