I don’t know about you but I absolutely love, love, love the autumn! I love the way the Southern heat melts away and cool breezes sweep in for some much-needed relief. You finally get to bust out the sweaters and the blankets and everything just feels cozier, you know? Oh, and of course, you get to indulge in pumpkin spice everything like a delicious pumpkin spice latte from Brown Fox Coffee - YUM! So just in case you are new to the area, I want to share some of the best ways to celebrate the highlights of the season here in Mount Pleasant.
Round Up The Kids & Hit The Pumpkin Patch
As a parent, there are few greater photo opportunities with the kids than the pumpkin patch! Oh, and the kids find them fun too -haha. I love taking the little ones to pick out their own pumpkins in October as a fun family outing. Not to mention, it is one of those activities that really reminds you of the season. If you enjoy decorating the house and perhaps your Thanksgiving table, this is also a good time to grab those as well and the kids will love the fact that they get to be a part of the decorating.
Get Lost In A Corn Maze
Corn mazes are another one of those activities that come around in the fall that are actually fun for both parents and for kids. In fact, I would even venture to say it can be a cute little day date idea depending on the difficulty. It isn’t hard to find farms in the area that install a corn maze in the fall. You may want to check out the corn maze at Boone Hall in Mt. Pleasant, or you can venture to the corn maze at West Farm in Moncks Corner. It’s fun, it’s festive and it is sure to give you all those Fall feels.
Go On A Nature Walk With This Kids
I know it sounds really simple but personally I think that grabbing the kids for a long nature walk is one of the best ways to indulge in the season. When you think of Fall, who doesn’t instantly picture foliage and nature in their mind? I believe that the more time you spend bonding together outdoors during this time is a wonderful way to enjoy the season and one another. Luckily, there are many parks and trails around Mount Pleasant where you can safely take long and leisurely nature walks with the kids.
Light A Bonfire
When I sat down to write this article I tried to imagine the perfect autumn day together as a family and come up with all of the things and activities that would make the perfect day. I don’t know about you but I don’t think there could be any better way to put the cherry on top of all these daytime activities than an evening bonfire. Roasting s’mores, telling stories, and just enjoying one another’s company while relaxing by the fire is by far one of the best things about Autumn in my opinion.
